Artist Statement

I'm Ashlynn Thomas, a sophomore at Blue Valley West. I learned throughout this semester of taking this photography class that I definitely like taking pictures of people more than scenery, nature, etc. I love catching beautiful moments between people. To me capturing these moments in a photo just brings me a lot of joy. My inspiration for a lot of my photos with people as the main focus point was love and pure happiness. I feel like these photos brought a lot of those emotions out. Although people were my main focus, I did take other pictures too. I do enjoy taking pictures of nature around us. Getting different angles and points of view. I like to show the beauty of our world. Photography can show so many different emotions and just show the beauty around us and I really enjoyed being able to that in this class.
